The clock on his wrist showed 8:38 pm. There was no more rain but a cold breeze now and then was enough to give Jason a cold shiver. He parked his car outside the police department and walked up to the office. He knocked on the door hoping that someone had an open ear for him. And someone had. Officer Smith told Jason to sit down so they could talk. "My wife got kidnapped and someone hurt her! Please help me! Please!" Jason's heart was beating so fast. "Alright. Alright. Calm down. The look on the woman's face wasn't promising. It was not the face you make when you made progress. "Mr. King. (that was Jason's last name) I don't have good news for you." Jason's heart dropped. A second ago he praised the police department. He was happy about how quick things move in here. That message broke his heart. He felt like he got sucked into the chair. It was as if he had no energy at all in his body. "What is it? What happenend?" Jason had no idea what the answer was going to be. "The number that sent you that horrible picture... It...
